2004 — Present: Senior Biological Scientist (Southeast Environmental Research Center, Miami, FL) — Involved in planning, organizing, and conducting group research on several key South Florida restoration and research projects along with co-supervising the day-to-day operations of the South Florida Terrestrial Ecosystem Lab. Duties include, but are not limited to: data collection, processing and analysis; aerial photograph interpretation, map making, and spatial data analysis using GIS/GPS integrated systems; airboat operator; computer software and hardware installation along with web page design; and the preparation, writing, and presentation of technical reports and peer-review documents.
1995 — 2003: Research Assistant (Southeast Environmental Research Center, Miami, FL) — Involved in planning, organizing, and conducting group research on several key South Florida restoration and research projects. Tasks associated with this activity included: developing a procedure for cleaning diatom-bearing sediments including cores; preparing diatoms slides for observation and photography; and identifying diatoms at the species level. |
